Register Now for Our Annual Post-Holiday Relaxation
Weekend - January 2-4, 2009
Our annual post-holiday relaxation weekend is not only a great way to relax after all the stress and craziness of the holiday season – it is also a great way for future Campers to get a taste of the 'Camp' Camp community and make new friends in advance of our summer session. This year our winter weekend will take place on January 2-4, 2009 and will once again be held at the Eastover Resort in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. And because our dates this year fall right after the New Year’s holiday this year, we are offering a special three-night package rate for those wishing to join us a night early on Thursday, January 1!
Kick Back & Relax! After all the holiday craziness is over, get away for a long winter weekend and relax at Eastover Resort,
a casual, "country basic" resort in Lenox, Massachusetts, approximately a 3-hour drive from both Manhattan and Boston. The resort has an indoor pool, exercise room, sauna, horseback riding, massage, cross country ski trails and tobogganing among their onsite amenities and activities. Bousquet Ski Area, outlet shopping, museums and other attractions are all within a short drive from the resort. Or just hang out and relax in the library next to the crackling fire.
The weekend has traditionally included a Yankee gift swap, a ping pong tournament, and a Silent Auction to benefit the Camp’s Campership Fund which offers financial assistance who might otherwise be unable to attend Camp in August. One of our long-time Campers is a professional wine consultant and will once again be offering one of her popular wine tastings. We usually cap off the weekend with a dance on Saturday night.
Eastover Resort does not have a liquor license, so the weekend is BYOB (“Bring Your Own Booze”). Eastover provides soft drinks, juices, ice and cups for your beverage needs. They also have a local purveyor who will deliver right to the front desk should you forget to pack any liquor essentials.
Relax an Extra Day! We’ve once again made special arrangements with Eastover for a special Bed & Breakfast stay for anyone wishing to arrive on Thursday night. (A perfect way to get in an extra day of shopping at the outlet shops!) And, this year, since Thursday is New Year’s Day, we are offering a special package rate for a three-night stay. Thursday night’s stay includes breakfast on Friday morning, but you'll be on your own for dinner on Thursday night and lunch on Friday afternoon. However, the resort staff is always happy to pick up take-out for those arriving on Thursday night, so everyone can stay warm and cozy by the roaring fire in the library.
…AND a Special Rate for New Year’s Eve! Because our weekend is falling right after the New Year’s Holiday this year, Eastover is graciously offering 33% off their New Year’s Eve rates for anyone from our Camp group! Book your stay for the official Camp weekend with us, then call Eastover and make a reservation directly with them for New Year’s Eve for only $100/person ($50 off!) when you mention you are with ‘Camp’ Camp. You can call Eastover Resort directly at 800-822-2386 for more details on a New Year’s Eve at the resort. (Please note that while we traditionally have been the only guests at Eastover during our weekends there – thus making it an all GLBT guest list – New Year’s Eve is not officially part of our contract with the resort. Therefore, you should expect a mixed crowd that evening. You may also have to relocate to another room on Thursday for the Camp weekend.)
Room Rates & Other Fees Prices include lodging, gratuities, use of the facilities and all meals from Friday night through Sunday breakfast. Massage, horseback riding and wine tasting are additional. All registration forms for the event include an accommodations questionnaire so that we can assign you to a room with compatible roommates if you’d like to share a room at one of the lower rates.
